non-attorney staff with attorney supervision where appropriate,
and utilizes modern office technology to provide legal services
efficiently and at a lower cost. The firm is available in most
cases on an hourly rate, contingent fee, predetermined fee,
or on a monthly or yearly retainer basis. Payment terms can
be structured to make the services available and affordable.
Members
in the firm are admitted to practice before the United States
Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, Federal District Courts of the
Eastern and Western Districts of Washington, State Courts of
Washington and Oregon, and the Courts in the United States Claims Court.
All members
of the firm are committed to this community. Kenneth A. Miller
graduated from Pasco High School and started his practice of
law in the Tri-Cities in 1980. Christopher J. Mertens grew up
in Yakima and came to the Tri-Cities directly out of law school
in 1983. Bruce A. Spanner grew up in Richland and graduated
from Richland High School. He returned to the Tri-Cities after
law school in 1984. Joel R. Comfort was born and raised in Spokane, Washington. All four have been active members in Kiwanis and Rotary,
and are actively involved in other organizations such as TRIDEC,
Tri-City Regional Chamber of Commerce, YMCA, Kadlec Medical Foundation,
St. Joseph's Children Center, March of Dimes, Tri-City Pregnancy
Center, Salvation Army, and The Tri-Cities Visitor and Convention
Bureau.
