LITIGATION PRACTICE

Casualty Loss Litigation. The firm began as a civil litigation law practice handling the defense of virtually all types of casualty loss claims. These have included claims for negligence, products liability, premises liability, slip and fall, employment claims, fire losses, agricultural crop losses, toxic torts, misrepresentation and insurance coverage issues.

Product Liability and Equipment Litigation. We have special expertise in the handling of product liability and heavy equipment accident claims. The majority of these claims have involved accidents with industrial equipment tools, mobile telescoping cranes, tractors, combines, wheel rims and saws. Because of the number of these cases handled by the firm, we have encountered the same experts used by the plaintiff's bar time and again.

Bodily Injury Litigation and Medical Malpractice. The majority of the firm's casualty loss work has involved bodily injury claims. As a result, the firm developed close relationships with physicians and hospital personnel in the medical community. Our practice then expanded to include the specialized area of defending these same physicians, surgeons and hospitals against claims of professional malpractice. We currently defend claims against physicians, surgeons, hospitals and medical clinics involved in the practice of dermatology, emergency medicine, family medicine, internal medicine, neurology, orthopedics, pediatrics, psychiatry, radiology, reconstructive surgery, obstetrics, gynecology and urology.

Real Estate Litigation. Our litigation practice has included the defense of real estate brokers and agents in errors and omissions cases. We have extensive experience dealing with these types of claims. Other areas of real estate litigation in which we have represented clients include adverse possession, enforcement of restrictive covenants, breach of warranty, misrepresentation, foreclosure and specific performance.

Commercial and Other Litigation. The firm's practice has grown and developed to include civil litigation involving contract disputes, common-law fraud and misrepresentation, real estate foreclosures, real estate and commercial transactions, employment-related disputes, and agriculture claims.
